DAY 11 – WESTERN SERENGETI → NORTHERN SERENGETI

After breakfast, begin your journey toward Northern Serengeti.

This is one of the most exciting stages of the safari as you move toward the area where the migrating herds may gather around the Mara River.

Enjoy game viewing throughout the journey.

As you approach the Northern Serengeti, the landscape changes into rolling hills, open plains and kopjes.

Arrive at your camp in the afternoon and settle in.

Overnight: Northern Serengeti / Kogatende
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

DAY 12 – FULL-DAY NORTHERN SERENGETI MIGRATION SAFARI

Today is dedicated to the Great Migration in Northern Serengeti.

Rise early and head out with your picnic lunch for a full day of exploration.

Your guide will monitor wildlife activity and search for concentrations of wildebeest and zebra around the northern Serengeti and Mara River area.

If conditions are favorable and the herds are positioned near a crossing point, you may have the opportunity to witness a river crossing.

River crossings are completely natural events and cannot be guaranteed. The most important part of the experience is spending time in the right ecosystem and following the herds’ movements.

Overnight: Northern Serengeti / Kogatende
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

DAY 13 – FULL-DAY NORTHERN SERENGETI MIGRATION SAFARI

A second full day in Northern Serengeti gives you a much better opportunity to follow the migration.

After an early breakfast, head out with your guide and spend the day exploring the Mara River region and surrounding plains.

The day may involve waiting near a promising crossing area, following moving herds or exploring other wildlife-rich areas of Northern Serengeti.

Apart from the migration, the region is also home to resident wildlife including lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, buffalo and many other species.

Overnight: Northern Serengeti / Kogatende
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

DAY 14 – NORTHERN SERENGETI → LAKE NATRON

Enjoy an early morning game drive before leaving Northern Serengeti.

Continue toward Lake Natron, one of Tanzania’s most remote and dramatic destinations.

This transition takes you from the famous migration landscapes into a completely different environment dominated by volcanic scenery, escarpments and the alkaline lake.

Arrive at Lake Natron in the afternoon and relax at your camp.

Depending on arrival time, enjoy a short guided nature walk.

Overnight: Lake Natron
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

DAY 15 – LAKE NATRON → ARUSHA / DEPARTURE

After breakfast, begin the journey toward Arusha.

Depending on your international flight schedule, you can either continue directly to Kilimanjaro International Airport or spend additional time in Arusha before your departure.

Meals: Breakfast & Lunch

END OF SAFARI

HIGHLIGHTS

The highlight of this itinerary is the three-night stay in Northern Serengeti.

This is important because the migration is constantly moving. A one-night stay gives very limited flexibility, while three nights allows the safari guide to follow the herds and spend more time in the northern ecosystem.

The Northern Serengeti is particularly associated with the famous Mara River crossings during the migration period. Current safari guidance generally places the strongest crossing opportunities around July to September, although exact timing varies naturally from year to year.

Important: No responsible safari company should guarantee a river crossing. The itinerary should promise the opportunity to experience the migration, not a guaranteed crossing.

COMMUNITY IMPACT – TRAVEL WITH PURPOSE

This safari also carries a strong community-impact message.
