Travel with Impact:
Supporting Lemiyon Primary School

At Aloito Safaris, we believe that travel should create meaningful connections between people and leave a positive impact on the communities we call home.

Lemiyon Primary School is a Maasai community school located in northern Tanzania. The school provides education to children from local Maasai families, helping to create opportunities for future generations through learning, knowledge, and hope.

As part of our commitment to responsible tourism, we invite our guests to visit the school during their journey. A visit offers the opportunity to meet students and teachers, learn about Maasai culture and daily life, and gain a deeper understanding of the community beyond the wildlife and landscapes of Tanzania.

Education is probably the most useful tool a child can have, and it isn't just "accepted as being part of life" like in the West.  Here it has to be made to happen, it needs the minimum of school supplies - books, pencils, sports equipment  - enough to make the long journey on foot worthwhile.  In Lemiyon breakfast of rice is given to the children as many won't have eaten and if they are going to learn they need some sustenance!

Together, we can make travel more meaningful, one journey at a time.

Participation is always voluntary, and we can assure you it is an authentic experience, not staged , not contrived, but simply real life in its rawest capacity.
